Xiao Zhuan (Small Seal) Daodejing Bracelet

Bracelet made of apple-tree wood tiles. The tiles are engraved (burned) with chinese ideograms of  Xiao Zhuan script (Small Seal,  220 BC). Their meaning is: “The Tao that can be followed is not the eternal Tao”, first verse of the Tao Te Ching (Daodejing).

DOWNLOAD: SMALL SEAL odt

The Small Seal is an ancient chinese script.

The Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi (秦始皇 帝) is considered the First Emperor of China, famous for being the patron of the impressive terracotta army and the initiator of the Chinese wall. He also imposed a unique writing system: The small seal.

李斯)(around 200 BC), it was drawn by brush or engraved on seals (from which its present name). Personally I find these characters aesthetically pleasing and easy to engrave with different techniques.
