Xiao Zhuan Chinese Amulet: Joyful Family

Amulet burned  on cherry tree wood. Each pendant’s side is engraved with two different chinese ideograms of  Xiao Zhuan script (Small Seal,  220 BC).
On one side it’s engraved the ideogram xi (joy, glee), on the other side the ideogram  jia (home, family).

Amuleto pirografato su legno di ciliegio. Ciascun  lato del pendente porta incisi ideogrammi chinesi in stile Xiao Zhuan  (Piccolo Sigillo,  220 BC).
Su di un lato abbiamo inciso il carattere xi (allegria), sull’altro  jia (casa, famiglia)

Amulet burned  on plum tree wood. Each pendant’s side is engraved with two different chinese ideograms of  Xiao Zhuan script (Small Seal,  220 BC).
On one side it’s engraved the ideogram dé (to achieve), on the other side the ideogram  fù (happiness).

Amuleto pirografato su legno di susino. Ciascun  lato del pendente porta incisi ideogrammi chinesi in stile Xiao Zhuan  (Piccolo Sigillo,  220 BC).
Su di un lato abbiamo inciso il carattere dé (ottenere), on the other side the ideogram  fù (felicità).

Pendant made by an old nail (18th-19th cent.) mounted on olive tree wood base. On the rear side the inscription  in old norse (Rök runes script) ” Trek ok hugr /Strenght and Courage” (also meaning “hold on!” or “don’t give up!”).

Pendente ricavato da un vecchio chiodo risalente al 18°-19° secolo incastonato su una base di legno di olivo. Sul retro la scritta in norreno (rune di Rök) ” Trek ok hugr /Forza e coraggio” ( valido anche come incitamento…).
