Folle di uomini si ammassavano davanti a vetrine con addosso quasi gli stessi abiti che vi erano esposti. Visti da lassù, i manichini delle vetrine sembravano più vivi delle persone che li guardavano a bocca aperta.

Hariuha haitika, Farawìsa. Gibu auja.
‘Hariuha I am called, Danger wise. I give good luck.’‘ Hariuha mi chiamo, conoscitore del pericolo. Io dono buona fortuna.’
Norse charm engraved on an olive wood strip, approximately 20cm x 4cm. The original runes were engraved on a fifth or sixth century pendant that was found on the Danish island of Zealand. The meaning of the name Hariuha is unclear. It is composed of the nouns ‘Hari, warrior’ and ‘Uha, fear or terror’, hence ‘Warrior who instills fear’. May be an epithet for Odin or Tyr.


Amuleto norreno inciso su una striscia di legno d’ulivo, circa 20 cm x 4 cm. Le rune originali sono state incise su un pendente del V o VI secolo che è stato trovato nell’isola danese della Zelanda. Il significato del nome Hariuha non è chiaro. E’ composto dai sostantivi ‘Hari, guerriero’ e ‘Uha, paura o terrore’, quindi ‘Guerriero che instilla paura’. Potrebbe trattarsi di un epiteto per Odino oppure Tyr.
